Evanov Winnipeg Radio Stations Raise over $75,000 in Support of Harvest Manitoba During 12 hour Radiothon

December 15, 2021 (Winnipeg, MB) – Evanov Communications Winnipeg radio stations ENERGY 106, HOT 100.5 and 92.7 CKJS raise over $75,000 in cash and food donations for Harvest Manitoba.

The annual event was held on Friday December 10th with ENERGY 106’s “Wheeler in the Morning” along with “Mark and Dilly” from HOT 100.5 and 92.7 CKJS “Good Morning Philippines’” Chester and Donna participating in the twelve-hour radiothon. Proceeds go directly to Harvest Manitoba, which will help feed over 80,000 Manitobans this holiday season.

“Thank you to everyone at the Evanov Group for organizing Hope for the Holidays”, said Vince Barletta, President & CEO. “The need at Harvest has spiked in the last few months. This campaign has raised $75,000 to date, plus hundreds of pounds of food for Harvest Holiday Hampers. This is a time of great need, and we are so grateful. We are a community of Harvest Stars. Thank you to you and all your listeners who tuned in and donated.”

With a network of more than 325 food banks and agencies across the province, Harvest Manitoba has become the fourth largest food distributor of its kind in Canada. It collects eleven million pounds of food each year and is currently sharing it with 83,000 Manitobans this month, half of whom are children.

Evanov Communication President and CEO, Paul Evanov, said: “Part of our corporate mission and the mandate of each radio station is that of delivering exceptional results for the community. I am delighted with our entire Winnipeg team led by our Program Director Adam West for this effort during this time of need for such a worthy organization. I encourage everyone to contribute to Harvest Manitoba now and throughout the year.”

Food bank use in Manitoba is increasing, and recent food prices have resulted in a 76% increase in the demand for food support over this same time last year. To learn more or to donate, please visit: https://www.harvestmanitoba.ca/
