Evanov Communications launches LITE 92, a station for Brantford, Ontario and beyond.

Brantford Ontario, June 18, 2021 – Evanov Communications today launched its new format on one of its three Brantford stations, CKPC-FM 92.1.  Formerly known as The Jewel 92, the station has been rebranded as LITE 92 and launched this morning.

The LITE 92 format will retain the best elements of the former Jewel, while skewing slightly younger and be more current in its soft, melodic, pop sound.  The station will maintain its local and regional orientation. While the music spans from the 70s to today, LITE 92 will include more current hits from artists such as Ed Sheeran, Adele and Maroon 5. More variety, from yesterday and today, makes this station perfect for in the car, at home or at “wherever” work.

Concurrent with the launch of the station, Evanov Communications announced the appointment of Scot Turner as the Brantford cluster Program Director.

An innovator and a seasoned professional, Scot brings over 40 years of radio experience to the role, including tenures with CFNY/102.1 The Edge (Toronto) and over 23 years as Program Director at stations such as Energy 108 (Toronto/Hamilton/Burlington), The Beat (Vancouver), Dave Rocks and The Beat (Kitchener). Most recently, he was Program Director & Operations Manager for Bell Media’s KFUN Kitchener where he led them to the best ratings in the station’s 10-year history.

About the rebranding of the station, Turner said: “I am thrilled about this programming move by Evanov Communications.  The LITE 92 format on this very large signal that covers Brantford and hundreds of kilometres around it, will serve its current audience and bring new listeners who are looking for a station that serves that soft, melodic pop sound they love so much. These last few years have been challenging for many sectors, including ours. This proactive move will deliver better results for listeners and advertisers alike.”

President and CEO, Paul Evanov added: “We are thrilled to have Scot among our ranks again.  We know him from his tenure with the very successful Energy 108 when we were managing it. He is a highly qualified, instinctive, innovative programmer. We believe Scot is the right person at the right time for the next chapter of our Brantford stations and company overall.”
